Ingredients
- 4 ounces semi-sweet baking chocolate
- 4 ounces unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
- 1/2 cup chopped almonds
- butter flavored cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon confectioners sugar for dusting
- whipped cream and chocolate syrup for garnish
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven 350 degrees. Melt chocolate and butter over a double boiler. Remove from heat and whisk in the sugar, vanilla and almond extract. Whisk eggs one at a time in to the cake batter. Whisk in cocoa. Chop almonds and fold in to the batter. Pour batter in to a spring form pan lined with parchment paper and coat with butter flavored cooking spray. Bake 30 minutes. Cool completely (about 2 hours). Dust with confectioners sugar. Slice and serve with garnish of chocolate syrup whipped cream.
