  • 250 ml kookwater
  • 250 ml strooi suiker
  • 60 g botter/margarien (75ml)
  • 1 eier
  • 375 ml meel
  • 5 ml bakpoeier
  • knippie sout
  • 30 g gekapte neute (75ml)
  • 5 ml vaniljegeursel
  • 100 g sagte bruin suiker (125ml)
  • 125 ml vars room
  • 40 g botter/margarien (50ml)

Preparation

Step 1

Strooi koeksoda oor die dadels. Voeg kookwater by en meng, laat afkoel.

Klop strooisuiker en botter tot goed gemeng. Voeg eier by en klop tot gemeng. Sif meel, bakpoeier en sout saam bo-oor mengsel. Voeg neute en vaniljegeursel by en meng. Voeg dadelmengsel by en meng,

Skep in 'n gesmeerde 23 x 13 x 5 cm pannetjie en bak by 180C (350F) vir 'n uur.

Verhit bruin suiker, room en botter saam oor lae hitte tot kookpunt en kook 5 minute sonder 'n deksel. Keer dadelbrood op 'n opdienbord uit en gooi warm karamelstroop stadig oor. Laat afkoel.
