Caramel Chocolate Brownies

Ingredients

  • 18 1/2 oz devil’s food cake mix
  • 3/4 C melted butter
  • 2/3 C evaporated milk
  • 50 individually wrapped caramel squares
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

1. heat oven to 350°

2. combine cake mix, butter, 1/3 C evaporated milk and mix well

3. pat ½ of this mixture into a 9 x 13 x 2 greased baking dish and bake for 10 minutes

4. cool completely

5. melt the caramels with 1/3 C evaporated milk in a saucepan over low-mediumheat

6. once the caramel mixture is smooth and the cake mixture is cool, poor the caramelmixture over the baked cake mixture in the pan

7. sprinkle with chocolate chips and cover with the remaining cake mixture

8. bake for about 15 minutes

9. cool completely before slicing and serving
