Angel Biscuits

Ingredients
- 1 yeast cake
- 2 tlb. warm water
- 5 cups flour
- 1 tlb. baking powder or soda
- butter
- 3 tlb. baking powder
- 2 tlb. sugar
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 cups buttermilk

Preparation
Step 1
Crumble cake of yeast in warm water with a pinch of sugar.
Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and sugar. Cut in shortening. Add yeast mixture to buttermilk and mix with dry ingredients.
Knead until smooth. Roll out and cut into biscuits. Dip in butter and place in pan so that they barely touch. May be frozen at this point.
Before baking allow to rise 3 hours at room temp. Bake at 400 for 15 mins.
