Ingredients
- 3 T. cornstarch, divided
- 1/2 c. water
- 1/2 t. garlic powder
- 1 lb steak, cut into thin 3" strips
- 2 T. oil, divided
- 4 c. broccoli florets
- 1 small onion, cut into wedges
- 1/3 c. soya sauce
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 1/2 t. ground ginger
- 1 t. red pepper flakes
- 1 c. sliced sweet peppers
- 1 c. sliced mushrooms
Preparation
Step 1
1. In a bowl, combine 2 T cornstarch and the garlic powder; add beef strips and toss.
2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, stir-fry beef in 1 T. oil until beef reaches desired doneness; remove from pan and keep warm.
3. Stir-fry broccoli, onion, peppers, mushrooms and pepper flakes in remaining oil for 4-5 minutes.
4. Return beef to pan.
5. Combine soya sauce, brown sugar, ginger and remaining cornstarch with water until smooth; add to pan.
6. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
7. Serve with hot rice or thin noodles.
