Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb lean ground beef
- 1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs
- 1/3 cup undiluted evaporated milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp onion salt
- 1/4 tsp poultry seasoning (or dash each sage and thyme)
- Mushroom Sauce
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
- 10 oz can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup undiluted evaporated milk
- 10 oz can sliced mushrooms

Step 1
Combine ground beef, bread crumbs, milk, eggs, onion salt and seasonings. Shape into 4 dozen 1 inch balls. Place in a single layer on a 15 x 10 3/4 inch pan or cookie sheet. Bake in a hot (500°F) oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until brown. Drain off fat. Add meatballs to the mushroom sauce, already prepared.
Mushroom Sauce: Melt butter in large saucepan. Blend in flour and worcestershire sauce. Add cream of mushroom soup. Stir in evaporated milk. Add mushrooms (drained). Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil and thickens. Stir in meatballs and heat through.
