This is an Old El Paso Mexican recipe that I have slightly changed to add more heat.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 Lbs. Ground Beef
  • 1 Cup Italian Bread Crumbs
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1/2 C Old El Paso Hot Salsa
  • 1 Medium Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1 Can Copped Green Chiles
  • 2 Cans Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 21oz Can Bush's Texas Ranchero Beans
  • 1 8oz Pkg. Sargento, Shredded Pepper Jack Cheese

Step 1

In large mixing bowl, combine Eggs, Bread Crumbs, Salsa, Onions, Green Chilies, Ground Beef and mix well. Form into patties and brown in a skillet. Place the patties on a paper towel covered plate to remove some of the fat. Continue browning patties until all patties are done. In between the browning of the patties; I drain excess fat from the skillet. In a 3Qt. Sauté pan combine Mushroom Soup and Beans. Add the patties and cook for ten minutes. I make sure the patties are covered by the soup and bean mixture. Sprinkle with Cheese and heat till the cheese melts.
