'thunder' cake

i know i know,how can a cake that has tomatoes in it be good? well i don't know! it just is!!!

Ingredients

• ( cream together one at a time)
• 1 cup shortening
• 1 tsp. vanilla
• 3 eggs (separated)( blend yolk's in ,beat whites until stiff & fold in )
• 1 cup cold water
• 1/3 cup pureed tomatoes stiff together
• 2 1/2 cups cake flour
• 1/2 cup dry cocoa
• 1 & 1/2 tsp. baking soda
• 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Step 1

mix dry mixture into creamy mixture.bake in a greased and floured 8 and 1/2 inch round pans at 350 F for 35-40 minutes.frost with chocolate butter frosting.top with strawberries.
