Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 med onion chopped
- 1 28 oz can stewed tomatoes
- 2 cups water
- 3 cans beef consomme
- 1 can tomato sauce or 1 can tomato soup
- 4 carrots diced
- 3 sticks celery diced
- chopped parsley
- 1 bay leaf
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme, or few sprigs fresh thyme
- pepper
- 5 tbsp barley (not heaping)

Step 1
Brown meat & onions, drain. Add remaining ingredients and simmer at least 2 hours.
