Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 t. baking powder
- 1/2 t. salt
- 1 egg
- 2/3 to 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 T. finely chopped onion (optional)
Preparation
Step 1
Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt in bowl. Beat in egg and enough milk to make a stiff batter. Stir in onion. DErop into hot fat 1 T. at a time.
