Ingredients
- 2 Cornish hens
- 2 tablespoon margarine
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat roaster to 375°F
In small saucepan, mix margarine, maple syrup, honey, mustard, and
seasonings. Warm until margarine melts. Stir until ingredients are blended.
Lightly coat cookwell with cooking oil. Tie legs together; place cornish
hens on rack in preheated cookwell.
Brush warm margarine mixture evenly over hens. Cover; roast 45 to 50
minutes or until golden brown and juices run clear when hens are pierced in
thickest part of thighs. Baste once with pan juices halfway through
roasting time.
Increase temperature to 425°F for last 5 minutes of roasting time.
