Ingredients
- For Sauce
- 1/2 lb. ground chuck or round steak
- 1/2 lb. ground pork
- 1 chopped garlic clove
- 1/2 medium onion chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons sweet basil
- 1 tablespoon fennel seed
- 1/2 tablespoon ground pepper
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 2 large cans tomato puree
- (then fill born cans with water)
- 1 small can tomato paste
- For Meatballs
- 1 pound ground round or chuck
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 tablespoon parsley
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1/4 c. grated Romano cheese
- 1 cup bread crums
Preparation
Step 1
For Sauce:
Add the first five ingredients to saucepan and cook until
well browned. Then stir in seasonings and water. Cook on slow heat for about 3 hours. Stir frequently so sauce does not stick
For Meatballs:
Mix all of the meatball ingredients together and add a few tablespoons of water to hold together.
Roll into balls and pack tightly. Cook in 300 degree oven for about 45 minutes. After they are cooked, place into sauce
