Preparation

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 400°F.

Use a knife to cut off the top of the head of garlic to expose the cloves.

Drizzle olive oil over the cloves.

Wrap the garlic in a square of aluminum foil.

-Instead of wrapping in foil, you can put the head of garlic in a garlic roaster before placing it in the oven.

-You can also place the garlic in an oven-safe baking dish.

-The heads can also be nestled in a muffin tin.

Roast the garlic for about 20 to 30 minutes, until the cloves are tender.

-The cloves should appear lightly browned when done.

-The garlic's papery covering will be browned, but not blackened.

Take the garlic out of the oven and let it cool before using.
