Ingredients
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1/3 cup walnut pieces
- 3 T grated parmesan cheese
- 2 C lightly packed fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 tsp salt, optional
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp granulated sugar
- 1 T balsamic vinegar
- 1/3 C low sodium chicken broth
Preparation
Step 1
Combine garlic, walnuts and cheese in the bowl of the food processor or blender. Puree into small bits. Add basil, salt, pepper sugar and balsamic vinegar. Puree again. With the machine running, add chicken broth and puree to make a smooth, thick paste. Spoon into a jar with a tight fitting lid. Store in the refrigerator.
Note: The surface may darken over time. Simply stir before using. The color change does not affect the flavor or quality.
