Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. soft butter
  • 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 2 T. sugar
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Preparation

Step 1

Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and beat til fluffy. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt. Blend into creamed mixture to make a stiff dough.

Shape into balls the size of walnuts. mix 2 T. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon in a small bowl. Roll cookie balls in the cinnamon sugar. Place on greased baking sheets. Flatten with fork.

Bake at 400 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes or until very lightly browned.
