Ingredients
- 2 cups self-rising cornmeal
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 lg egg
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/3 cup butter
Preparation
Step 1
stir together first 4 ingredients in large bowl melt butter in 8 inch iron skillet in 425 oven for 5 minutes. tilt skillet to coat evenly with butter pour cornbread batter into hot buttered skillet. bake 425 for 25 minutes or until golden. remove immediately from skillet and cool.
