Corned Beef and Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 4 lb. pkg Corned Beef with spices
  • 1 head cabbage
  • Three 14 1/2 oz. cans Beef Broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 - 1 tsp. basil
  • 1 pkg. baby carrots

Preparation

Step 1

Place the corned beef (*fat side up*) in a large Crock pot with the juice and spices. Add two cans of beef broth, water, and basil. Cook the corned beef on HIGH for 3 hours. Add 1/4 of the head of cabbage to the Crock pot. Remove 1 cup of the juice from the Crock pot and place the juice in a large pot. Add 1/2 of the cabbage head to the large pot of juice and add one can of beef broth to the pot. Cook the corned beef for an additional 3 hours. Add carrots to the pot and cook the cabbage and carrots for 1 - 2 hours on LOW-MEDIUM heat. Serve the cabbage with the corned beef.
