Ingredients
- asparagus spears 1 pound fresh
- yogurt 1 cup plain
- cheddar cheese 4 ounces shredded
- cream cheese 4 ounces softened
- lemon juice 1 tablespoon
- butter 1 tablespoon
- salt 1/2 tablespoon
- pepper 1/2 teaspoon
- hot sauce 2 drops
- water
Preparation
Step 1
Remove asparagus spears bottoms
Arrange asparagus in a large deep skillet
Add about 1/2 cup water, cover and bring to a simmer over medium-high heat
Steam asparagus for about 5 minutes, or until just tender
While the asparagus cooks make the sauce
Sauce:
Combine all the ingredients in a microwave safe dish
Microwave on high for 1 1/2 minutes
Let stand 2 minutes, whisk and microwave again on high for 1 1/2 minutes
Let stand for 2 minutes, then whisk until smooth
If necessary, microwave for an additional minute
