Pulled Pork on a Bun
By brendaz
Absolutely the VERY BEST pulled pork recipe I have come across! Easy to make and super flavorful. This recipe makes quite a bit, so feel free to cut in half if you wish.

Ingredients
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 c. ketchup
- 2/3 c. apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 c. brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 c. tomato paste
- 3 T. paprika
- 2 tsp. smoked paprika
- 1/2 - 1 tsp cayenne pepper, depending on taste
- 1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 4 tsp. salt
- 2 tsp. black pepper
- 5 pounds pork shoulder roast (do not use a lean roast, the marbling is what makes it so tender and easy to pull)
Preparation
Step 1
Combine all the ingredients except the roast in a bowl; whisk together until well combined. Pour a bit of sauce on the bottom of crock pot, add roast and pour the remaining sauce over roast. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
Remove roast from cooker and, working in pieces, shred pork using two forks. Place shredded pork back in slow cooker, toss in the sauce and serve with rolls. For more recipes and photos, visit my blog at www.foodandfact.com
