Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 2 eggs well beaten
  • 3-1/2 cups sifted pastry flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Preparation

Step 1

cream butter, add sugar gradually.
Add well beaten eggs and blend well.
to the sifted flour, add salt, baking soda, baking powder.
- Sift again.
Add sifted indgrdients to egg mixture.
Mix well.
Stir in vanilla.

Chill batter in refridgerator for 1 hour.

Using 1/3 of the batter, roll betwen 2 layers of flavoured waxed paper to 1/2" thickness.

Melt chocolate chips over gentle simmer.

Spread thin later of melted chocolate on cookie batter. Roll 'jelly-roll' style over it self.
(repeat with other 2-1/3's of dough)
Wrap in waxed paper. Chill several hours in fridge.
Cut into 1/4" think slices.

Baked on a greased shiny cookie sheet @ 350 for 12 minutes.
