Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Butter, room temperature
- 6 Tbsp Sugar
- 6 Tbsp Brown Sugar
- 1 Egg
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1-2/3 cups Four
- 1/4 + 1/8 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
- 10 ounces Chocolate, your choice
Preparation
Step 1
Beat butter and both sugars just until they come together. Don't over-beat. Add the egg and vanilla; beat just until incorporated. Mix together the flour, salt and baking powder and add to the batter. Stir until blended and put into a pastry bag with at least a #10 round tip*.
Drop onto a cookie sheet pulling up so the dough gets a thin point, characteristic of the chips. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 5 minutes.
Let them cool while you melt the chocolate in the microwave or over the double boiler. Poor the chips over the chocolate and mix until they're all coated, being careful not to break them. Reserve some to decorate the top of the cookies. Drop by teaspoons onto a tray lined with wax paper. Decorate with 3 or 4 cookie chips and let sit until firm or place in the fridge to firm quicker.
*If you want to make these, but don't want to bother making the chips with the tip, you can spread the dough with a spatula or the back of a spoon on a cookie sheet, bake and then cut or break into desired sized pieces.
