Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup Dutch cocoa powder
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 2 tsp vanilla

Step 1
Combine sugar, cocoa, and salt. Add water and whisk well until thoroughly blended. Pour into saucepan and place over medium heat. Stir frequently until mixture comes to a boil; continue stirring the boiling mixture for 7 full minutes.
After 7 full minutes of boiling, remove from heat. Allow to cool a min and stir in vanilla. Transfer to a bowl and place in refrigerator. When completely chilled, remove any skin from top and strain through a fine mesh sieve.
