Ingredients

  • 1/4 C (2 oz) Butter-unsalted
  • 1 lb nuts - single variety or a mixture
  • 1/4 C Brown Sugar
  • 1/8 to 1/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1 tsp Vietnamese Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 3 TBSP Maple Syrup

Step 1

In a large skillet set over medium-high heat, melt the butter & add the nuts. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 3 to 4 minutes, until the nuts are fragrant & beginning to toast. Add the remaining ingredients, stirring until the sugar begins to melt. Lower the heat to medium and cook for another 3 to 4 minutes, until the nuts are nicely carmelized around the outside. Transfer nuts to a parchment lined baking sheet to cool, stir periodically so they don't clump. Tip: to enhance flavor-toast nuts after putting in pan for about 7 minutes
