Ingredients

  • -----REGULAR-----
  • 1 cabbage (2-3 lb) finely shredded
  • 1 c mayonnaise
  • 1 c sour cream
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground pepper
  • -----CHOPPED SLAW-----
  • 1 cabbage (2-3 lb) finely chopped or shredded
  • 1/2 c oil
  • 3 T red wine vinegar (or more according to taste)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard

Step 1

Directions for the Regular Slaw:

Crisp the cabbage in cold water for about an hour. Drain well and combine with all ingredients. Toss together and let stand for 30 minutes or longer if you like it wilted.

Directions for the Chopped Slaw:

Combine all ingredients for the dressing and shake well in a jar. Toss the cabbage with the mixture and let it stand an hour, turning it several times while it mellows.
