Katharine Hepburn's Brownies

Rich and fudgy. A dense chocolate brownie using only 1/4 cup of flour. So easy to make and amazingly delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces unsweetened baker's chocolate (2 squares), or 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 stick
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup roughly chopped walnuts or pecans, lightly toasted

Preparation

Step 1

2 ounces unsweetened baker's chocolate (2 squares), or ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, 1 stick
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Pinch of salt
1 cup roughly chopped walnuts or pecans, lightly toasted

Cooks Notes
For best results, cover the pan of cooled brownies with cling wrap and place in the fridge overnight before cutting. This allows time for the flavors to develop and produces the most ultimate moist brownie.

Drizzle with dark chocolate if desired.
