Chocolate Covered Cherries

By

None of that sickening sweet goo in the center of these! Just stemmed maraschino cherries dipped in dark chocolate. Perfect for Valentine's Day or your Christmas candy tray.

Preparation

Step 1

Make sure the cherries are completely dry before dipping in chocolate. (I drained them well on several layers of paper towels, then picked up each one and blotted it again, lightly squeezing any extra juice out of the centers.)

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, wax paper, or parchment paper.

Melt chocolate wafer with a little shortening as directed on package of chocolate. Dip each cherry by the stem in the melted chocolate and place on the prepared pan.

Set aside at room temperature for chocolate to harden, or refrigerate.
