  • First Step Soup Ingredients
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 3 cups of chopped, cooked chicken breast
  • 2/3 cup of brown & wild rice mix
  • 1 cup cubed carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1 cup diced onions
  • 1 ⁄2 teaspoon dry parsley flakes
  • 1 ⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 ⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • 1 ⁄4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 ⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp thyme
  • Step 2 Cream Ingredients
  • 1 ⁄4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 cup light cream
  • 2 cups milk

Preparation

Step 1

1. Combine all of the step 1 ingredients in your slow cooker.

2. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, until the rice has softened.

3. Whisk together the second step cream ingredients in a large, microwave safe glass measuring cup.

4. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stopping every minute to whisk it smooth again, until the mixture has thickened.

5. Whisk the thickened mixture into the soup.

6. Let it cook another 5-10 minutes, then serve!
