Cream of Chicken and Wild Rice Soup

Ingredients
- First Step Soup Ingredients
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 3 cups of chopped, cooked chicken breast
- 2/3 cup of brown & wild rice mix
- 1 cup cubed carrots
- 1 cup diced celery
- 1 cup diced onions
- 1 ⁄2 teaspoon dry parsley flakes
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1 ⁄4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 ⁄2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 tsp thyme
- Step 2 Cream Ingredients
- 1 ⁄4 cup cornstarch
- 1 cup light cream
- 2 cups milk

Preparation
Step 1
1. Combine all of the step 1 ingredients in your slow cooker.
2. Cook on low for 7-8 hours, until the rice has softened.
3. Whisk together the second step cream ingredients in a large, microwave safe glass measuring cup.
4. Microwave on high for 2-3 minutes, stopping every minute to whisk it smooth again, until the mixture has thickened.
5. Whisk the thickened mixture into the soup.
6. Let it cook another 5-10 minutes, then serve!
