Sour Milk Cake

Sour milk cake is a good basic cake to eat plain, or serve with berries on top, use in a trifle or top with ice cream.

Ingredients
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sour milk, or buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 2 cup flour
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- Pinch of nutmeg
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Grease and flour a Bundt pan (or angel food cake pan).
Cream butter and sugar together. Add milk and baking soda. Add flour, spices and raisins. Mix well. Pour into pan and bake for approximately 45 minutes or until a toothpick when inserted comes out clean.
Note: If you don't have any sour milk, you can make it by adding 1 teaspoon of cider vinegar to milk.
