Ingredients

  • For sauce:
  • 9 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • For topping:
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup confectioners sugar

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour an 9x13 inch baking pan. Bet egg whites until soft peaks form. Slowly stir in sugar and continue beating until peaks start to harden. Transfer egg white mixture to a large mixing bowl.

In a clean bowl, beat egg yolks until fluffy. Stir in vanilla and beat for 1 minute. With spatula, gently mix together yolk and egg white mixture until uniform. Fold in flour, mix until well combined.

Pour batter into cake pan and bake for 22-25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool. Using a fork, poke holes around the cake. In a clean bowl, combine milks with vanilla extract. Pour sauce over the cake. Whip heavy cream with confectioners sugar until the mixture peaks. Spread overtop wet cake. Refrigerate any leftovers.
