can make almond candy first, crack into smaller pieces and dip into melted chocolate.

Ingredients
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 teaspoons water
- 1 teaspoon corn syrup
- 1 cup finely chopped, toasted almonds (divided)
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips

Step 1
melt butter in sauce pan.
add sugar, water and corn syrup
cook mixture over medium heat stirring
when sugar dissolves and mixture begins to boil raise heat and bring mix to 290 degrees on a candy thermometer (soft ball stage) it will be light brown in color and syrup will separate into threads that are not brittle when dribbled into cold water.
quickly stir in 1/2 cup almonds.
immediately pour mix onto an ungreased baking sheet.
wait 2 to 3 minutes for surface to firm then sprinkle on chocolate chips.
when chips have softened spread chocolate evenly over the surface.
sprinkle remaining almonds over melted chocolate.
when chocolate hardens crack candy into pieces. store covered.
