What a fun meal!
In addition to the shrimp, I added crab legs, scallops and mussels.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 to 3/4 C Old Bay Seasoning
  • 10 small new potatoes, about 1" in diameter, rinsed but not peeled
  • 1 lb smoked sausage, cut into 1/2" coins
  • 2 medium sweet onions quartered lengthwise
  • 5 ears fresh corn, cut into thirds
  • 20 large shrimp
  • 1 lemon cut in half
  • Optional: 1 clump of crab legs
  • 12 scallops
  • 12 mussles
  • I use a turkey fryers for this recipe, much easier than on the stove.

Preparation

Step 1

Fill a 20 quart stockpot 2/3 of the way with water. Bring to a simmer.

Add the Old Bay Seasoning and simmer for about 5 minutes

Add the potatoes, sausage and onions, bring to a slow simmer and cook until the potatoes are almost tender (about 15-18 minutes)

Keeping the water at a simmer, add the corn and cook about 3 minutes.

Add the crab, heat it through, about 5 minutes.
Add the scallops, shrimp, mussels and cook until the shrimp in nice and pink and the mussels open.

Remove from pot, and spread on a newspaper covered table top.

Serve with crusty bread, melted butter, lemon wedges and cocktail sauce.
