Wholesome Granola Bars

These granola bars are very rich, with a bottom layer similar to shortbread, topped with jam and then delicious mixture of oats, granola, nuts and chocolate morsels.

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter softened
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup seedless raspberry or strawberry jam
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar packed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup quick cooking rolled oats
- 1 cup granola (without dried fruit)
- 1 cup Fisher chopped pecans
- 1 cup semi sweet chocolate morsels
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F. In mixing bowl cream 1/2 cup butter and powdered sugar; stir in flour. With lightly floured fingers, pat dough into ungreased 9x9 inch pan. Bake 10 minutes. Remove; cool 10 minutes. Spread jam evenly over crust. Combine in a bowl remaining 1/4 cup melted butter, honey, brown sugar and vanilla. Stir in oats, granola, pecans, and chocolate. Pat firmly over jam layer. Bake 30 minutes or until golden brown. Cool; cut into squares. Yield: 16 bars
