Ingredients
- For Marinade:
- 10-ounce hanger steak
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- Leaves from a swig of thyme
- 2 cloves of garlic, sliced
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Good pour of soy sauce
- For Preparing Dish:
- Swirl of olive oil
- 1/4 pound sliced mushrooms
- 3 sliced shallots
- 2 whole cloves of garlic
- 2 sprigs of thyme
- Watercress, for garnish

Preparation
Step 1
Use cast iron pan.
In a bowl, marinate steak in olive oil, thyme leaves, sliced garlic, lemon zest and soy sauce.
In grill pan on medium-high heat, swirl olive oil. Add mushrooms, shallots, garlic, and thyme sprigs. Cook, stirring, until mushrooms are brown. Push everything to one side of pan.
Add steak; sear 5 - 7 minutes per side. Serve with mushrooms and garnish with watercress.
