Ingredients
- 1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
- 32 oz. marinara
- 1 lb. fresh mozzarella
- 2 tbsp. chiffonade basil, plus more for serving.
- pinch red pepper flakes
- kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1 crusty baguette, sliced and toasted
Preparation
Step 1
Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.
Heat olive oil in a medium ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté until until golden, about 3-5 minutes. Add the marinara sauce. Stir in basil, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper. Bring to simmer then remove from heat.
Add the mozzarella to the center of the dish and transfer to the oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the cheese is melty. Sprinkle pepper over the mozzarella and garnish the skillet with more basil. Serve warm with toasted bread.
