Ingredients
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups toasted bran flake cereal
- 1 cup toasted wheat germ
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup water
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 2 cups raisins
Preparation
Step 1
In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, bran flakes, wheat germ, brown sugar, baking soda and salt; mix well.
Combine buttermilk, water, eggs, oil, honey and molasses; blend well.
Add to flour mixture; stir just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Fold in raisins.
Pour into glass or plastic container.
Cover and store in refrigerator for a minimum of 4 hours and a maximum of 4 weeks.
To Bake Heat oven to 400
Grease or line muffin pans with paper cups.
Spoon 1/4 cup batter into prepared muffin cups.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
