Ingredients
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 tbsp veg oil
- 2 lb lean ground beef
- 2 to 3 tbsp chili powder
- 2 cans (14 1/2 oz each) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 c Heinz chili sauce
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 2 cans (15 1/2 oz each) kidney beans, un strained
Preparation
Step 1
In large sauce pot or Dutch oven, cook onions and bell pepper in oil until tender. Add beef and cook until browned, drain fat. Stir in chili powder, then add tomatoes, chili sauce, salt and pepper. Simmer, covered 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add beans,simmer, uncovered, 15 min longer.
