Ingredients

  • Enough for 6 Lbs Ribs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups tomato puree
  • 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • Crushed dried red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oil in heavy medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and saute until tender, about 10 minutes. Add garlic and saute 1 minute. Add tomato puree and next 3 ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer until sauce thickens slightly, about 20 minutes. Stir in vinegar. Season sauce to taste with salt and pepper.
