  • 3/4 cup sifted flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • jelly or jam
  • confectioner's sugar

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Sift flour, baking powder, and salt. Beat eggs thoroughly. Add sugar gradually and beat until thick and light. Gradually fold in flour and add vanilla. Pour in greased pan (cookie sheet) and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

Spread a cookie sheet size towel entirely with confectioner's sugar. When removing cake from oven, flip onto the towel of confectioner's sugar. Roll cake and let cool entirely. After cake has cooled, unroll and spread with jam or jelly. Reroll cake and slice.
