Preparation

Step 1

1. Slice meats and mix ingredients for marinade.

2. Combine, cover and marinate in the fridge over night or for at least two hours.

3. I place on the 1 inch rack and cook on power level 1 for 2 1/2 to 3 hours and turn and at half way cooking time.

4. Last five minutes tent the dome.

5. Let jerky sit for 30-60 minutes.

6. Keep in mind this is for very thin pieces of meat, 1/4 thick. If your pieces of meat are thicker you'll have to add more time.

Tips
For spicy jerky, add 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes.

For a smoke flavor, add 2 teaspoons of liquid smoke.

To tent the dome, lift the edge of the dome and let air into the oven while the oven is still running.

Even though real jerky looks a little different than jerky at the store, the store bought jerky is full of preservatives and appears dry and dark brown.
