- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup wter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sifted all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon soda
- 3 cups oats

Step 1
Beat shortening, sugars, water and vanilla until creamy. Sift together flour, salt and soda; add to creamed mixture and blend well. Stir in oats. Drop by teaspoonfuls. Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes.
