Basic Crepes

Easter is a wonderful time to take a step back and enjoy some delicious Easter desserts with family. These basic crepes are a great way to start out Easter Brunch and set the tone for the day. They can be ready in 30 minutes (10 minutes prep, 20 minutes cook) and can be paired with fresh fruit and Nutella to make them even more tantalizing. These crepes are also a great choice because you can eat as few or as many as you want – no need to feel like a large, rich dessert has been thrust upon you. Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Preparation

Step 1

Find a large mixing bowl and combine the eggs and the flour, whisking thoroughly. Add the milk and water gradually, stirring to mix it up. Next, add the salt and butter and then beat until nice and smooth.

Get a griddle or frying pan, lightly oil it, and heat it over medium high heat. Put the batter onto the griddle or frying pan, using about 1/4 cup for each individual crepe. Tilt the pan with a circular motion to get the batter to evenly cover the surface.

Cook the batter for about 2 minutes, or until the bottom is a light brown. Take a spatula and loosen the crepe, and turn it over to cook the other side. For best results, serve hot.
