CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 1/2 1-oz. squares unsweetened chocolate
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 8-oz. package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 6-oz, package semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Preparation

Step 1

Combine butter, water and chocolate in glass dish and microwave until boiling and chocolate is melted, being careful not to burn.
Stir in combined flour, sugar, baking soda and salt.
Add eggs and sour cream, mix well.
Pour into greased and floured 11 X 13 " baking dish.

Combine cream cheese and sugar, mixing until well blended.
Blend in one egg.
Spoon over chocolate batter.
Cut through batter with knife several times for marble effect.

Sprinkle with chocolate chips, if desired.

Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
