Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/2 cup Butter
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 Eggs
- 3/4 cup Warm Water
- 2 pkgs Active Dry Yeast
- 4 cups Flour
- 1 12-ounce can Filling (poppy, apricot, almond, prune, etc.)
Preparation
Step 1
Cream together butter, sugar, salt and eggs. Dissolve yeast in water: add butter mixture and 1-1/2 cups flour. Beat well.
Stir in remaining flour; let rise until double in size, about 1-1/2 hours. Roll 1/2 inch thick and cut into 4-inch squares. Place on greased cookie sheet.
Make a deep depression in center of each square and fill with 1 tablespoon filling. Bring 4 corners to center and pinch together. Cover and let rise about 30 minutes or until light.
Bake at 375 for 15 to 18 minutes. Brush with melted butter; dust with powdered sugar.
