Ingredients

  • 2 sandwhich loaves, day old, thinly sliced (Skylark bread if possible)
  • 1 lb velveeta cheese
  • 3/4 lb butter

Preparation

Step 1

1) Whip softened cheese and butter until fluffy.

2) Take 3 slices of bread and spread cheese mixture on each and stack. Remove crusts, cut into quarters and ice each piece on sides and top. You can use a fork through the bottom to do this. Place on a cookie sheet, cover with foil and freeze.

3) When ready to use, preheat oven to 350 and bake 10 to 15 minutes until cheese melts. Watch them carefully so they don't burn. Make sure the squares are frozen before heating.

* These are really delicious, but quite fiddly to make. However, because they must be frozen in advance, they can be made well ahead and will keep if carefully covered.
