Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 (10 • oz ) jasmine rice
  • garlic 2 large clove
  • 1 lb green beans
  • 1 ½ lb) grass-fed ground beef
  • 1/2 Cup (4 oz) teriyaki sauce
  • 1 1/2 Teaspoon (¼ oz) toasted sesame seeds
  • kosher salt
  • ground pepper
  • neutral oil, such as vegetable
  • 2 Tablespoons all-purpose flour

Preparation

Step 1

1. Cook rice
Rinse rice in a fine-mesh sieve until water runs clear. In a medium saucepan, combine rice, 2 cups water, and 1 teaspoon salt. Bring to a boil, then cover and cook over low until rice is tender and liquid is absorbed, about 17 minutes. Remove from heat, and cover to keep warm.

2. Prep garlic & green beans
Peel and finely chop 2 large garlic cloves. Trim or snap stem ends from green beans, then cut into 1-inch pieces.

3. Cook green beans
Heat 1½ tablespoons oil in a large skillet over medium-high until shimmering. Add green beans and a pinch each salt and pepper. Cook until green beans are tender and browned in spots, about 6 minutes. Transfer beans to a bowl.

4. Brown ground beef
Heat 1 tablespoon oil in same skillet over medium-high. Add ground beef, garlic, 2 tablespoons flour, and a pinch each salt and pepper. Cook until browned, 3–4 minutes. Carefully pour off all but 1 tablespoon oil, if necessary.

5. Finish & serve
Add teriyaki sauce, green beans, and ⅓ cup water to skillet. Cook, stirring, until sauce coats the green beans and beef, about 1 minute. Remove from heat. Season with a few grinds of pepper. Fluff rice with a fork. Serve stir-fry over rice and garnished with sesame seeds. Enjoy!

6. Spice it up!
Add a bit of gochujang, sambal oelek, or chili garlic sauce to the stir-fry in step 5 for an added hit of heat.
