Ingredients

  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 6 T sugar
  • 3 lg egg yolks
  • 5 C sifted flour
  • 2 1/4 T baking powder
  • 1 1/2 C buttermilk
  • mandarin oranges
  • crazins soaked in water

Preparation

Step 1

Heat oven to 400. Beat butter and sugar til fluffly. Add egg yolks, one at a time.
In a large bowl, add flour, baking powder and stir. Fold into butter mixture alternating w/ buttermilk. Fold in fruit.
Turn onto lightly floured surface. Roll to 1 1/2" thick. Cut w/ 2"floured biscuit cutter.
Place 2 " apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Reduce over to 350 and bake for 30 mins
Cool on wire rack.
