CRACKER JACKS

Ingredients

  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 1 cup white syrup
  • 12 ounces raw peanuts
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 gallons popped corn

Preparation

Step 1

Boil first 4 ingredients together 5 minutes and remove from heat, then add 1/2 teaspoon soda and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir well and pour over 2 gallons of popped corn. Mix well. Spread in shallow baking pan. Bake at 250deg for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Pour out on waxed paper. Break apart. Store in tight container.
