Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup melted margarine
  • 2 cups peanut butter
  • 1 (16 ounce) package powdered sugar
  • 4 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 2 tablespoons melted paraffin

Step 1

Combine margarine, peanut butter, and powdered sugar; mix well. Add rice cereal and mix well. Roll mixture into 1 inch balls; set aside.

Combine chocolate morsels and paraffin in top of a double boiler; place over hot water, stirring until chocolate is melted. Place several peanut butter balls in chocolate mixture; roll with spoon to coat evenly. Remove from mixture with spoons, and place on waxed paper to cool. Continue process until all peanut butter balls are covered. Yield: about 7 dozen peanut butter balls.

NOTE: If desired, 2 tablespoons melted shortening may be substituted for paraffin in chocolate mixture. Refrigerate candy to prevent stickiness.
