Step 1

Melt 1/2 cup butter or margarine in a 9 x 9-inch pan
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup unsifted flour
3 tablespoons "rounded" cocoa

Add 2 eggs, add butter to ingredients. Mix thoroughly, add 1 cup chopped nuts and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Bake 20 to 30 minutes, cool and cut. Oven 325deg. May be doubled.
