SOUTHERN BLACKBERRY COBBLER

Ingredients

  • CRUST:
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen Blackberries
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • -
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 5 to 7 tablespoons water

Preparation

Step 1

Place berries in a saucepan. Combine sugar and flour; add water and lemon juice. Pour syrup over berries. Cook over medium heat for about 15 minutes.

CRUST:
Mix ingredients. Roll out bottom crust and place in 9 x 9 baking dish. Bake at 450deg until brown. Add berries and top crust. Bake until top crust is brown (10 to 15 minutes).
